CORNING, NY- Today the League of Women Voters held a forum at 11:45am where the candidates would answer questions from the public. Barb Halpin of the Schuyler County League of Women Voters confirmed that Randy Kuhl declined the invitation at the last minute. Kuhl instead chose to hold a partisan press conference in Corning at Centerway Square at noon.

Eric Massa, retired Navy Commander and Congressional Candidate in Western New York's 29th District, is holding three events today announcing the endorsement of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Political Action Committee. The first was held at the Rochester Veterans Outreach Center and the second at the Elmira VFW Field Post #901. Massa will also be holding a veteran's town hall meeting at the Canisteo American Legion at 61 West Main Street, in Canisteo at 8pm tonight. The town hall is open to the public.

Yesterday on WHAM-13 in Rochester, Congressional candidate Eric Massa and incumbent Randy Kuhl debated in a closed studio format. Kuhl, who previously refused to debate in front of the public, finally stood and was held accountable for his record of voting with President Bush 95% of the time. Despite a failing economy, and a faltering campaign, Kuhl still sent an angry press release claiming victory while ignoring the facts and his voting record.

CORNING, N.Y. - Today, Research 2000, a highly respected non-partisan and nationally regarded polling firm, released a poll of likely voters in New York's 29th Congressional District. For the third time in a week, this poll showed retired Navy Commander Eric Massa firmly in the lead over his entrenched incumbent opponent Randy Kuhl by a margin of 49-42%.

In the past two days, two separate third party polls have been released showing retired Navy Commander Eric Massa in a solid lead over his opponent, Randy Kuhl. In the DCCC's poll released on Monday, Massa had a lead of 47-42%. Then on Tuesday in Roll Call Newspaper, the official paper of Capitol Hill, a separate independent poll showed Eric Massa leading 51-44% .

CORNING, N.Y. - Retired Navy Commander and Congressional challenger in New York's 29th District laid out his position on the bailout bill:

"Let me be very clear, I did not support the bill the Bush Administration brought to Congress, I did not support the bill the House voted on Monday afternoon, and I could not support the bill the Senate is working on today as it is currently written. I will only support a bill which creates an independent, non-partisan oversight committee like the Resolution Trust Corporation."
